I Could Not Breathe

All at once time stopped and the air stood still
My heart raced my body shivered with chill.

The sound shattered the world into pieces
Blinding me I could not even find Jesus.

One single word has brought me so much dread
Instantly draining my face to fall dead.

Sapping all my strength and making me weak
Bleeding the world turning everything bleak.

I could not breathe everything closing in
I felt used, a fool, betrayed, and chagrin.

I wanted to leave I wanted to run
Save one voice echoing we’re not done.
